How my journey began
On the professional level, I am a Registered Dietitian, Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management, and Certified Aquatic Fitness Professional with thirteen years of experience in nutrition. I graduated from Montana State University (Go Bobcats!) with a Bachelors of Science in Food and Nutrition. I completed my dietetic internship in Boise, Idaho through Idaho State University. I moved back to Montana, starting my career in at the local hospital in Great Falls for large portion of my career. I found my niche helping others in the outpatient setting. Specifically, with clients preparing for weight loss surgery, which shifted my approach specifically when it comes to cultivating a healthier relationship with food. Fueling your body should be a fun, creative, not rigid. I truly love what I do and love helping others find their rhythm.
My specialties include weight management, bariatrics (pre and post-surgery), metabolic conditions (type 2 diabetes, gestational, pre-diabetes, cardiovascular health, PCOS) mindful eating, pre and postnatal nutrition, and sports nutrition. I help people rise above perceived obstacles by pointing out the positives in your choices, while focusing on big-picture goals with creative strategies for staying on track.
My own relationship with food…
It has taken me years to gain a better relationship with food and with the scale. I understand how hard it can be to establish a level of confidence and rhythm with both areas. At one time, food was an emotional outlet and an area of control. I get it!
Approach to care
I collaborate with my clients and meet you where you are, ensuring the process in place is a sustainable journey you feel confident about. Helping you reconnect with your innate ability to trust your body when it comes to food, where ALL foods can fit! I encourage baby-steps along the way to secure long-term changes. I am passionate about helping clients reconnect with their "why" when it comes to their health goals and moving away from an all-or-nothing mindset to a more flexible, sustainable rhythm.
A little bit more…
I live on a 4th generation ranch with my husband, three kiddos and two dogs. I enjoy family dance sessions in the kitchen, walking my dogs, running, hiking, snowshoeing, and camping.
My favorite treat, dark chocolate chips mixed with a big bowl of mixed berries, peanut butter toast, roasted veggies!
You can usually find me in the kitchen either dancing with kiddos, baking up something new, or outside exploring. One of my favorite sayings, is “Live, Love, Laugh” and I try and live by this motto each day.
